Professional Conduct and CLEAR Values — Upholding Ethical Behavior in ASSP

This 60-minute interactive session, which includes breakout discussions, is designed to deepen your understanding of ASSP’s CLEAR Values and Code of Professional Conduct. These principles form the foundation of professionalism for our members and serve as an ethical benchmark that reinforces accountability, responsibility, and trust in the work our members do and in the people they serve.

Presenter: Maribeth Anderson, MPA, CSP

Maribeth Anderson, MPA, CSP is a distinguished safety and resilience professional with over 25 years of experience leading initiatives in safety, security, crisis management, and organizational resilience. Her career spans a wide range of industries—including oil & gas, manufacturing, aviation, water utilities, healthcare, corporate retail, and distribution—where she has held both operational and corporate leadership roles.

In addition to her technical expertise, Maribeth is a dedicated proponent of mental health and emotional wellbeing initiatives within the workplace. She actively promotes holistic approaches to safety that prioritize psychological resilience and support for individuals facing crisis. Her volunteer leadership with organizations such as the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), Crisis Text Line, and local charitable groups reflects her deep commitment to creating safer, healthier communities.

Maribeth holds a Master of Public Administration from the Illinois Institute of Technology and is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP). Her contributions to the profession have been recognized with numerous honors, including ASSP’s Women in Safety Excellence – Outstanding Mentor Award and Region Safety Professional of the Year. She continues to inspire others through mentorship, advocacy, and a steadfast dedication to building organizations where safety and well-being go hand in hand.
