Risk Solutions Consultant II

About You

We’re looking for a Risk Solutions Consultant to work in a fast-paced Risk Management service area and provide loss prevention services on a variety of risk management topics to an assigned territory of members in the South Texas region. The Risk Solutions Consultant II is responsible for delivering loss prevention services to assigned members of TASB Risk Management Fund. Loss prevention services will include consulting, conducting surveys, and trainings (virtual and in-person) based on various lines of coverage (worker’s compensation, auto, liability, and property). Provide leadership in planning and organizing special projects and new programs to enhance service delivery and organizational effectiveness. 

A Typical Day

Delivers both onsite and virtual loss prevention services to Fund members in accordance with divisional service standards that include informative consultations, loss history reviews, accident/incident trend analysis, exposure and hazard surveys, safety inspections, accident investigations, and dynamic presentations.
Assists members in developing comprehensive risk management processes and procedures that mitigate identified hazards, exposures, and practices.
Offers cost effective suggestions and recommendations for exposure reduction.
Completes regular administrative tasks including written member reports, logging member activity records, and regular supervisor updates, within division service delivery standards.
Develops and delivers advanced presentations, both in-person and virtually, to Fund members, internal colleagues, and external organizations on environmental health, safety and risk management issues.
Collaborates with Risk Management Services team, in particular with their assigned regional service area. 
Researches and develops articles, instructional materials, presentations, and reference documents as needed or directed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills For Success

Education and Experience:

Four-year college degree required in business, occupational safety/health, science, or engineering preferred, and 
Ten or more years of experience in or combined occupational safety and health, risk management, loss prevention, or insurance preferably with public sector emphasis.
Certifications and licenses preferred: CSP, CIH, OHST, ARM, or similar professional designation.
Valid Texas driver’s license required.
Proficient in Microsoft products and virtual meeting/presentation products. 
Reside within or in geographic proximity to assigned territory. 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of risk management; environmental health and safety standards and regulations.
Knowledge of public school operations.
Ability to research and deliver responses to complex questions.
Knowledge in hazard identification and ability to develop recommendations to mitigate hazards. 
Superior skills and ability to develop and provide highly effective training programs to sophisticated audiences. 
Maintain effective working relationships with external contacts and colleagues. 
Ability to analyze various types of data and report findings. 
Possess exceptional oral and written communication skills. 
Ability to make sound judgments. 
Demonstrate excellent time management skills to oversee territory of varying members and on-going assignments supporting the division, while meeting weekly production standards. 
Strong computer skills in a variety of programs including virtual meeting tools. 
Must demonstrate sustained (three-five years) outstanding performance on employment evaluations. 
Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred. 
Work Environment

Position operates remotely from home office within or in geographic proximity to assigned South Texas territory.
Routine use of standard office equipment including computers, phones, and printers.
Day-to-day activities involve in-person, phone, or virtual interactions with school districts, community colleges, and internal staff, traveling and conducting on-site visits for member loss prevention services, or attending networking events and workshops.
Requires routine physical tasks including walking, crouching, climbing, stooping, reaching, and material handling.
May require up to 60% business-related travel including overnight stays and some travel outside of assigned territory including to TASB Headquarters.
