Share Your Experience: Become a WISE Mentor

Hello WISE members,

Someone helped you get where you are in your safety career. Now you have the chance to do the same for the next generation of women in safety.

The Women in Safety Excellence (WISE) Mentoring Program is looking for mentors. Whether you’re a seasoned leader or a mid-career professional, your experience, perspective and advice can make a real difference for a fellow member who is growing in the profession.

WHAT’S INVOLVED

  • A commitment of at least one hour per month, by phone, email or in person, at times that work for you and your mentee
  • A one-year match, with the option to extend for a second year if you both agree
  • No expectation to provide jobs or business opportunities — just life lessons, advice, coaching and mentoring
  • All information shared between mentoring pairs is kept in strict confidence, and applications are reviewed only by the matching committee

WHO CAN APPLY

Mentors must be members of both ASSP and WISE. Not yet part of WISE? Joining is open to all ASSP members at no additional cost.

HOW TO APPLY

Applications are accepted anytime, and matches are made each April and October. Submit yours soon to be considered for the April match.

  1. Log in to your ASSP account at assp.org (the application form only appears when you’re logged in)
  2. Go to the WISE Mentoring page: https://www.assp.org/membership/communities/common-interest-groups/women-in-safety-excellence/mentoring
  3. Complete the Application Form for Mentors and Mentees

You can also find the page by selecting Membership > Communities > Common Interest Groups > Women in Safety Excellence > Mentoring.

Thank you for investing in the future of our profession.
