For nearly 20 years, the American Society of Safety Professional (ASSP) Region III Student Leadership Conference (SLC) has provided its students with the skills, resources, and insights needed to successfully transition from the classroom and into a rewarding career as a Safety and Health Professional. We achieved this by inviting dynamic keynote speakers, professional networking events, hands-on learning exercises, topical breakout sessions, as well as peer-to-peer mentoring. Additionally, we have even offered courses in which the students receive professional certificates to add to their resumes. Year after year, our students have consistently expressed how valuable this conference is for their professional development.
Unfortunately, due to the global pandemic, we have not been able to host this in-person conference. However, to continue our commitment to fulfilling the professional development needs of our students we are developing a series of webinars called the Student Leadership Series (SLS)! Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about a wide variety of topics, including: how soft skills make an impact in the workplace, applying risk management techniques, and utilizing technology in safety, etc.
